My Final Wish

August 14, 2019 By Mike Rubino

The second “My Final Wish” was presented on Tuesday, August 13 at 7:00pm in the Parish Hall.  Over 110 people were in attendance!  Fr Lou presented on the funeral liturgy and the rites and traditions associated with it.  Mario Calderon and Tim Little from the Archdiocese of Chicago, Catholic Cemeteries were on hand to discuss disposition options and Barbara Pitts, Archdiocese of Chicago, Office of Development was on hand to discuss estate planning when bequeathing to the Church.

We had four local funeral homes available for questions.  Our thanks and gratitude to Phillip Maher and “Uncle Bob” from Maher Funeral Home, Ed Dymstra and Mark Birmingham from Colonial Chapel and Funeral Home, Bill Lubben and Bill Kiley from Sheehy Funeral Home, and Madeline Jarka and Don Jarka from Lawn Funeral Home for their presence and expertise in fielding questions from the audience.  Special thanks also to our team of attorneys, Carl Evans and John Benz.
