Nativity Scene Build Off

November 25, 2020 By Darlene Draus

Fr. Tirso invites parishioners (as a family or a ministry) to construct their own Nativity Scene on a 8′ x 8′ area on the parish grounds, providing all their own materials and being responsible for setup and takedown.  There will be a committee set up to judge each scene, based on creativity and expression of the meaning of the birth of Christ.

Details are still being worked out, but, if you’re interested in participating, following is some information:

  • Preregister – Call or email to register your family or group.  You’ll be given a location for the “build” on the parish grounds.
  • Build Time – Nativity scenes may be constructed starting November 28 (Thanksgiving weekend) and should be completed by December 19.
  • Judging – Sunday, December 20 after the 11:30am Mass. Nonmonetary prizes will be awarded.
  • Viewing – Nativity scenes should remain on display on the grounds, but must be taken down by January 10.

Start brainstorming… look around the house, garage or basement for supplies… get creative!

For more details, email Fr. Tirso:  [email protected]
