We are so pleased to announce that our new church livestream system has been installed and tested, and is now up and running! The system includes three mounted cameras that are able to capture a much wider range of activity in our worship space than was previously possible, including close-up shots and smooth transitions between cameras to enhance the prayer experience of those worshipping with us online. The new system works effectively with our existing church sound system to produce quality audio. A small storage room near the Ambry now serves as the new media room, where our ‘livestreamer’ controls the system.
Thanks to those who made this possible!
We owe a debt of gratitude to the generous and dedicated individuals who donated either the funds needed or their time and expertise. The cost of the project was covered entirely by donations earmarked for this purpose, so it did not cause the parish to incur additional expense. Thank you to our generous donors! The technical knowledge needed to design and implement a system that would work well in our unique worship space was provided by a few members of our St. Julie Media Team. Special mention goes to Bill Sherman and Ken Shaw, who worked tirelessly in providing the hours and technical know-how needed for the project. With the help of our own Fr. Ton and Deacon Ed, installation of the new livestream system was done entirely in-house. With the system now in place, Bill and Ken have moved into the role of operating the livestream controls each weekend. Thank you everyone!
Are you interested in learning how to livestream? We need your help!
The parish is now actively recruiting additional volunteer livestreamers, to be trained by Bill and Ken. Once trained, volunteers will be scheduled to livestream in teams of two. Scheduling will, of course, work around the availability of our volunteers. Currently, the 9:30am Sunday Mass will be livestreamed each week using the new equipment, as well as special events such as Confirmation or First Communion. As additional volunteers are trained, it will be possible to further expand our livestream outreach.
