Time to clean out those closets! We will be collecting gently used coats, hats, gloves, fleece and sweatshirts for those in need this winter. If you find you have some of these items that you no longer need, we will get them to someone who can use them! There will be a bin outside the St. Julie library.
We will be having our annual luncheon again this year! Thank you, to all veterans, for your service! If you are a veteran or know a veteran, please extend this special invitation to lunch, and you are welcome to bring a date! There is no cost. We will continue the tradition of taking the group photo. Veterans who attend any Mass at St. Julie on that weekend will also receive a special blessing.

Are you interested in becoming an Altar Server? Servers have an important role in the Mass, assisting the priest in the celebration of the Eucharist, which is the cornerstone of our faith. Please discuss it first with your parents, since this ministry is a commitment.
If you are presently an Altar Server, have been a Server in the past, or are interested in becoming one, you are invited to attend one of the following training sessions:
Wednesday, October 20 — 6:00 pm (8th grade or older)
Thursday, October 21 — 6:00pm (6th & 7th grades)
Saturday, October 23 — 10:00am (3rd grade)
Saturday, October 23 — 12:30pm (4th & 5th grades)
- Training sessions will take place in church.
- We request that a parent accompany you.
- If you are unable to make the training assigned for your grade level, feel free to attend on another date.
- We hope to see you at the training!

A reflection was given by Gail Sladek on October 1st, during First Friday prayer and adoration. It was entitled “Go to Joseph – Turn to Mary.” A recording of the reflection is available on YouTube by clicking on the link below.
In October, our parish will be participating in The Baby Bottle Project benefiting The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland. This non-profit organization directly assists mothers and families experiencing crisis pregnancies by offering emotional, financial, material, and spiritual support through counseling, clothing & monetary provisions, prayer, and other aid. By God’s Grace, The Women’s Centers have saved over 40,000 babies—and their mothers—from abortion since opening in 1984.
Empty baby bottles will be available in the narthex in October, as a way to save your change and make your donation. If you are making a donation by check, please make it payable to: The Women’s Center. You can also go directly to the The Women’s Center website at GoTWC.org, or call 773.794.1313 to donate.
Thank you!
