New Year’s Day (Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God)
Mass Time and Seating Capacity:
- 9:30am (150 seats)
(Seating capacity subject to change, depending on availability of volunteers)
Thank you for your interest in registering to attend Mass at St. Julie:
Please note that by registering for Mass, you are agreeing to the guidelines that have been set forth by the state and the Archdiocese of Chicago. If, for some reason, you do not feel you can adhere to these requirements, please know that the dispensation from attending the holy day Mass in person is still in effect and you can instead join us on our livestream at 9:30am. Our team of volunteers are offering their time to assist us in maintaining the safest possible worship environment. We appreciate your cooperation!
Reservations are required. The signup link has been included in a parishwide email and is now active on this website. Or, if you do not have internet access, you can call Sheila/Deacon Ed at 708.429.6767 x232 to reserve your spot. (You will not receive a callback unless there is an issue.)
We appreciate your continued donations online. A collection box is also available at the door as you enter church if you wish to use an envelope.
Safety Guidelines
These safety precautions should be observed at all times:
- If you are not feeling well, we ask that you stay home as a precaution.
- Masks are a must for everyone’s safety. They must be worn properly over the nose and mouth.
- Households may sit together but should be six feet from the next person. Households are defined as those who live together every day. Extended family and friends who do not live with you must safety distance (6 ft.) themselves from you while in our worship space.
- Pews that are marked by blue tape may be used.
- Please plan on arriving no sooner than 30 minutes and no later than the start of Mass; this will allow us time to ensure all preparation is completed. This will also allow our volunteers to fully participate in the Mass.
- If you have attended large gatherings in the last week where safety precautions have not been taken, we ask that you take a week off from Mass in person and participate via Facebook or our parish website.
- For those who are not able to sign up via internet, please contact Sheila at 708.429.6767 x232. Leave your name, phone number and the Mass you would like to attend. We will only call back if there is an issue with your reservation.
We appreciate your help in keeping everyone safe and healthy. Our goal is to be able to continue celebrating Mass in person. Everyone working together will go a long way!
We Love Volunteers!
We cannot do without our wonderful volunteers and also don’t feel it’s right to ask the same people to serve at multiple masses each weekend. Can you help? ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!
If you would like to volunteer to assist the Reopen Team, please email Deacon Ed at [email protected] or [email protected]
God bless,
Deacon Ed and Sheila

Yes, we’ll be open for Christmas!
In addition to Fr. Tirso and Fr. Ton, five St. Julie staff members tested positive for Covid-19 and are finishing their period of quarantine and recovery. The two-week shutdown of our church and parish office continues for one more weekend, therefore parishioners are invited to once again view the Mass for this coming Sunday that is livestreamed from Holy Name Cathedral on Channel 7 at 9:30am. Our neighboring parishes also remain open.
We anticipate the limited reopening of St. Julie Parish on Tuesday, December 22. Additional details follow:
- Cleaning. Thorough professional sanitizing of all church and office spaces will take place Friday, December 18, with our thanks to the company who is generously donating this service.
- Christmas Mass Times: 3:00pm, 5:00pm and 10:00pm (Dec. 24); 9:30am and 11:30am (Dec. 25). In-person attendance will require advance signup. Check your Friday morning email or our parish website. We anticipate that the 3:00pm and 9:30am masses will be livestreamed.
- Weekend Masses. When weekend masses resume on December 26/27, they will be held at 4:30pm Saturday and 9:30am Sunday for in-person attendance, with advance signup required. The 9:30am livestream will also resume.
- Weekday Masses. Fr. Tirso and Fr. Ton will continue to say weekday masses privately, with no in-person attendance, for at least the next few weeks. They will, however, continue to livestream these masses.
- Office Hours. The Parish Office will remain closed for the most part until after New Year’s, with staff returning to very limited office hours during January. All staff members are continuing to work from home, so please feel free to email or leave a message on the office phone extensions. We will return your call as soon as we can.
- Drop Box. This is still available for your use, located outside the west office door.
- Donations for the Coat Drive or Giving Tree. These donations are still being accepted. Details are outlined in a separate post on this website. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
In addition to Fr. Tirso and Fr. Ton, another St. Julie staff member has now tested positive for Covid-19. Noting the rise in cases in our parish, and the potential for a larger outbreak, the Vicar General for the Archdiocese, Bishop Robert Casey, has recommended that our church and parish office remain closed for two weeks, until Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Therefore, the office will be closed, and there will be no weekday or weekend masses at St. Julie (including livestreamed masses) through Monday, December 21, 2020.
As an alternative, the Sunday Mass from Holy Name Cathedral is available on Channel 7 at 9:30am. Our neighboring parishes also remain open.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email a staff member or leave a message on the office phone line and we will return the call as soon as we can. The drop box located outside the west office door is still available for your use. If you have Giving Tree donations, coats or items of any kind, you may drop them off between 9:00am and Noon on December 21st. We will make sure they get where they are intended. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
Please keep checking this website, emails and Facebook for updates.

- Please do not gift wrap (items must be identifiable)
- Return unwrapped gifts to the West entrance on Monday or Tuesday, December 21/22
